We had a fabulous time, weekend-before-last, with fellow Christian homeschoolers from our lovely state of Mississippi and the surrounding provinces… (yes, I know they’re states, but provinces is a much more beautifully descriptive title. Or at least that’s my personal belief.) Anyways, this is a get-together for homeschoolers, sponsored by Mississippi Home Educators Association, (www.mhea.net) held once yearly at the Church of God campground in Dixon Ms. I, for one, REALLY enjoy visiting with people who are unique, like us. (On a side note: A few of us decided, at said event, that unique is a nice way of saying weird… sometimes.) Enough of my rambling: here are the pictures!
Beka, our sweet friend Breann, and yours truly.
Laura’s love of the zip-line was displayed in waiting in line, most of every day. At least she was having fun!
Sharon was also a zip-line rider. Adventure is wonderful!
Volleyball: the favorite sport of MOST everyone who attended. It was fun, if you know how to play, and well, some of us are learning. :) We will like it once we are good at it.
More volleyball.
Amazingly beautiful hill country that the camp is situated in creates a lot of hills and valleys that are perfect locations for zip-lines, football games, rolling down in barrels, and whatever else creative people dream up.
The much anticipated, 1 mile fun run is beginning, and the participants take their mark.
Joshua, winning first place for the boys 8 and under!!! Laura ran too, and came in eighth over all! Pretty good for a 4 year old! I’m so proud of my awesome siblings!!!
Then there was the 5K for ages 9 and up. Ben giving it his best!
Sharon: the first place winner of girls ages 9 – 11 AND the third female to cross the finish line!!!!!!! And she hadn’t practiced. What makes you think I’m proud?
I’m also proud to be a daughter of the best Daddy. Ever. I love you!
Beka with another sweet friend, Janessa Warner.
Laura with her medal!
Josh receiving his medal!
Those who both ran and finished the race! A “Way to go!” to you all!
Mr. Danny and a bunch of the older folks parents and twenty somethings, showed the teenage boys how volleyball is played. That’s what fun is y’all!
Our “front porch” for the camper! I love camping.
There’s something about a fire that is mesmerizing. While looking into its depths, the most profound thoughts come about, but glance away, and they’re gone.
I feel myself waxing eloquent. Back to reality I go.
Our neighbor’s homes away from home.
“Line up tallest to shortest so we can pick teams.” The classic way of picking teams for speed volleyball.
Sometimes being a big sister is the best thing in the world! Aren’t they adorable? Mercedes and her baby brother.
All you homeschoolers out there should come join us here next year! I guess that’s all for now! Sharon had her 12th birthday about a week or so ago, so we’ll be posting about that soon! Thank you to all who helped pull this together! Y’all are amazing!
Blessings to you all! ~Hannah
This is the first year that we have missed in a while. :( Wish we could have seen you guys!
