Love is a beautiful thing…

Oh my!!! God is a giver of good gifts which are way far above all that I can imagine!!! My heart is OVERLFLOWING!!!!!

So it all started back in the end of September of 2013…

well actually I believe God has been at work on this for a long time before that, but that is when I started seeing what he had in mind!

I was working at No Greater Joy Ministries for a few weeks. I was babysitting four kids this particular Sunday morning, (and having a blast, by the way!! You guys are awesome and know who you are!!)  and had got them all to the church meeting.

So we were sitting on the front row, and who should stand up to preach for a bit, but this super handsome…(oops, yes I had that thought, but quickly dismissed it before it lead me away from what the man was saying!)…cheerful, guy who I thought fit the description of this guy named Andrew who I had heard was top notch.  And that on several occasions!

Anyhow, I found myself agreeing whole heartedly with this humble, scripturally sound, young man.  And was still trying to keep from thinking how strikingly good looking and strong he was…in vain!

But I didn’t get to meet him that morning.  And I was heading home that following Wednesday…so I wouldn’t get to.  Oh well…I might just as well be ok with being single all my life.  There weren’t any guys that I knew of that I would want to marry. (how sad…)

Andrew Schrock is a former Amish man from Ohio.  He got saved after he began to read the Bible, to back up his staunch beliefs in the Amish religion, and found the gospel!! It had been six years from the time that he had been excommunicated from the Amish church. He is a logger now, loves God, kids, and laid back country life…and me!!!!!!

Back to the story…

It was about 8:00 pm that Monday before I was supposed to go home.  I was staying with a family there in the community and helping them with random things.  And then!! A group of young people were going caving and came by the house to see if I wanted to go too…Andrew was going…and well…we kind of ended up next to each other in the single file line through a cave for the next two hours!!! *SMILE*  And well, we talked, a lot!!

I went back home a few days later.  I couldn’t get Andrew off my mind.  So I prayed that God would take the thoughts and the liking I had for him away if he weren’t the Man for me.  He didn’t. So I told my parents about him so they could pray the same thing!! I got on Facebook to do some advertising for a business a few weeks after I got home.  The very day after I got on I had a friend request from Andrew Schrock. (And my heart skipped a beat.) *Big Smile* So I asked Daddy if I should accept it, and he said go for it but treat him like a brother.  I did!

Anyhow, on November 30, I got the nicest, most polite message a girl has ever gotten:

“Hey Hannah! I really enjoyed meeting you in TN.  I don’t know were you are at in life, but if you are interested, I would like to get to know you better.  I don’t know how you think about this, perhaps I should have asked you Dad first.  But I don’t know your Dad and haven’t ever met him.  I’ll be glad to though.  And if you’re not interested I’m totally fine! Andrew!”

*almost fainted with joy*

Was that not the most polite way a guy EVER asked a girl???

So with my parent consent, I wrote back that I was very interested!!! After talking with Daddy for a few weeks we began to write back a forth very long letters asking tons of questions and trying to figure out what the other was like! It was very good, and we amazingly didn’t and still don’t have one single thing we disagree on…it’s like we were made for each other!!!

We didn’t just start being sweet in our writing until it was evident that this was going toward marriage.  I had waited and saved my first “I love you” for the man I would marry and let me tell you it was worth waiting for!!!

Then on March 2nd, while we riding around the farm I live on in our old Nissan pickup, a very nervous Andrew pulled out a ring and asked “Hannah, would you want to marry me?”

SHOCKED. Silence only because I had totally lost my voice as I was COMPLETELY SURPRISED!!!!!!  I couldn’t speak for a full minute, but finally managed to find my voice and say “Yeah!!!!!!!!!”

Y’all I’m the most blessed girl on this entire world!! To have a man who loves you and cherishes you like Christ loved us is the most fulfilling feeling there is.  It is elating. I pray God sends you each someone who will be perfect for you too!!

And as for us, we can’t wait for June 7th!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God for his WONDERFUL BLESSINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then story goes on…….

Hate that all of our plans for getting together have been falling through, but we'll have to see each other soon!
